 Verified WOW Stopped by Housmans Bar in Church Stretton for a roast dinner and left seriously impressed. The quality of the food was excellent — full of flavour, perfectly cooked, and clearly made with care. The roast had all the classic elements done really well, with standout potatoes and a rich, satisfying gravy. What really made the visit memorable was the service. The team were welcoming, attentive, and created a relaxed, friendly vibe without rushing us. The bar itself has a brilliant atmosphere — lively yet cosy, and ideal for a laid-back meal. A fantastic place for a roast and a great overall experience. Would highly recommend and will happily return.

 Verified Just Go! Best experience and Food ever ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ An absolutely gorgeous roast dinner at Housmans Bar in Church Stretton! Every element was cooked to perfection — beautifully tender meat, crisp roast potatoes, rich gravy, and generous portions that felt both indulgent and comforting. You can really tell how much care goes into the food. The staff were truly amazing: warm, attentive, and genuinely welcoming without ever being overbearing. They made the whole experience feel relaxed and special from the moment we arrived. The atmosphere is incredible — cosy, stylish, and full of character, making it the perfect place to enjoy a proper Sunday roast. Housmans has absolutely nailed the balance between exceptional food, outstanding service, and a brilliant setting. Highly recommended, and we’ll definitely be back!

 Verified 30/70 might be worth a go The ambience , interior and staff were beautiful. We had a late lunch, the menu was a little limited, really basic cafe/tea room food but you’re paying for the ambience , I get that and am happy to pay for that extra experience. The scampi was excellent but the majority of chips were rock hard and very undercooked(obviously frozen chips but not cooked long enough/ cooked too high, too quickly)and not pleasant. Despite this some of the food was edible…the peas were great! (it’s all fried , not too much can go wrong🤦‍♀️). Unfortunately the whole ambience and experience was ruined by a table of 6 women who looked like they were on some sort of works do constantly on their phones playing loud videos at full volume and not just one phone at a time, to the point we couldn’t even have a conversation because of their blaring videos that they were playing. Unfortunately on this occasion, the customers (i’m assuming they are regulars) let this establishment down, as did the staff themselves by not stepping up and asking them politely to lower their phone volumes. Would’ve been no probs if we were paying for pub grub in a pub…….The whole place looks inviting, and the interior is lovely but I wouldn’t recommend it .

 Verified The perfect mix of service and style Late to review but compelled to mention this lovely restaurant - what a find! The atmosphere is wonderful - relaxed, welcoming and so clean! The Christmas decor is beautiful and really made us all feel festive. Delicious selection of tapas - I caught sight of their Christmas menu too and it looks amazing. Special mention to our waitress (Connie) as she made our evening with her lovely smile and professional service. SO refreshing to be served by someone so competent and calm - no showy loud service - just perfectly attentive and hardworking. Hold onto her Housmans!

 Verified Hidden gem with great food and atmosphere This incredible Tardis of a wine and beer bar, tapas bar and restaurant was a real delight to discover. The staff were genuinely friendly and accommodating, the food was delicious and generous, and the atmosphere was warm and comfortable, the kind of place you just want to stay in. I cannot recommend it highly enough, everything you want is under one roof and it does not disappoint.

 Verified Fabulous We visited Housmans for a meal and were very happy with our experience. The pizza was delicious, with excellent tasty sauce and generous toppings. The seafood linguine was also incredibly tasty. The staff were friendly and attentive, and the whole place just oozes good vibes. Really happy we have somewhere like this on our doorstep.  Verified Housmans - a must visit I was staying in Chuch Stretton during a hiking holiday in the Shropshire Hills in October and booked into Housmans Restaurant for dinner. I chose the tapas menu and purchased tapas plus the spring salad along with a glass of prosecco. I also indulged in dessert. The food was superb, especially the spring salad, the atmosphere was fabulous and the service was second to none. I had such a great experience that I booked again for the following week when I was staying in Church Stretton again. On that second visit I also received 5 star food, drink and service. I would highly recommend Housmans if you are looking to have a meal in Church Stretton.
